Megan Goldberg

Executive Director

Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with a concentration in Sign Language Studies from the University of New Mexico. She is a nationally certified interpreter who has been serving the New Mexico community since 2006.

Megan previously served as Associate Director at RGC Access for three years and has now stepped into the role of Executive Director. She brings extensive knowledge of the local Deaf community and offers expert consultation on communication access and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for organizations seeking interpreting services for Deaf, hard of hearing, or DeafBlind individuals.

In addition to her leadership role, Megan continues to interpret in a wide range of community settings, with a specialization in legal interpreting.

Rebecca De Santis

Associate Director

Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree in Sign Language Interpreting from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in 2010. Shortly after graduating, she relocated to Albuquerque and has proudly called New Mexico home ever since.

She is a nationally certified community interpreter with a specialization in mental health interpreting and obtained her Qualified Mental Health Interpreter (QMHI) certificate in 2015.

In addition to serving as our Associate Director, Rebecca is one of our lead interpreters and coordinates the Bridge to Work program, which supports recent interpreting graduates through safe job placements and professional development opportunities.

Katrina Knisley

Staff Interpreter

Katrina graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Signed Language Interpreting. As a nationally certified interpreter, she is passionate about expanding access to services for Deaf and DeafBlind communities.

With specialized knowledge in haptics and pro-tactile interpreting, Katrina is well-equipped to support the unique needs of DeafBlind individuals. Her work is driven by a commitment to bridging communication gaps and fostering greater connection and independence—especially in rural areas of New Mexico, where resources are often limited.

Krista Baca

Staff Interpreter

Krista earned her bachelor’s degree in Sign Language Interpreting from the University of New Mexico in 2021. The following year, she successfully passed the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) and has since focused her work on supporting Deaf youth in educational settings.

Krista is also deeply committed to improving access for the DeafBlind community in New Mexico. She has pursued specialized training in haptics and pro-tactile communication to better serve this population and help ensure inclusive, effective communication.

Brandi Burrell

Educational Consultant

Brandi has been a nationally certified interpreter through RID since 2015. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of New Mexico in 2007, then continued her education in Sign Language Interpreting in Portland, Oregon, where she earned her associate degree in 2012.

Since 2014, Brandi has worked as an educational interpreter. She joined the staff at RGC Access in 2023 and currently provides both interpreting and consultation services to educational institutions that are new to having interpreters in the classroom.

Most recently, Brandi completed the Mental Health Interpreter Training through the Alabama Department of Mental Health’s Office of Deaf Services and is continuing to grow her expertise as a mental health interpreter.
